في خطوة قد تغيّر طريقة استخدامنا للإنترنت يوميًا، كشفت شركة قوقل عن تحديث جديد لمتصفح Google Chrome يحمل ميزات طال انتظارها، ويضع الإنتاجية في صلب تجربة التصفح.
التحديث لا يضيف تحسينات شكلية فحسب، بل يقدّم أدوات عملية تجعل المتصفح أقرب إلى مساحة عمل متكاملة، دون الحاجة إلى برامج خارجية أو خطوات معقدة.
مهمتان في الوقت نفسه
الميزة الأبرز في هذا التحديث هي العرض المنقسم (Split View)، التي تتيح فتح صفحتين جنبًا إلى جنب داخل نافذة واحدة.
لم يعد المستخدم مضطرًا للتنقّل المستمر بين علامات التبويب؛ يمكنه الآن مشاهدة فيديو تعليمي أثناء تدوين الملاحظات، أو مقارنة محتوى بين موقعين بسهولة تامة.
يمكن تفعيل الخاصية عبر النقر بالزر الأيمن على التبويب واختيار “Open Link in Split View”، أو من خلال أيقونة مخصّصة بجوار شريط العناوين. كما يمكن تعديل حجم كل جزء بسحب الفاصل بينهما بما يناسب طبيعة العمل.
وداعًا لتحميل ملفات PDF
من أبرز الإضافات أيضًا أدوات جديدة للتعامل مع ملفات PDF مباشرة داخل المتصفح.
في السابق، كان فتح ملف PDF يعني تحميله أولًا ثم استخدام تطبيق خارجي للتعديل أو التوقيع. الآن، يمكن تمييز النصوص، إضافة الملاحظات، بل وحتى توقيع المستندات من داخل كروم نفسه.
عند فتح ملف PDF، يظهر رمز جديد يفتح لوحة أدوات مرنة تسمح بتغيير لون القلم وحجمه وإضافة التعليقات بسهولة، ما يختصر الوقت ويعزز سلاسة العمل.
حفظ مباشر إلى السحابة
ميزة أخرى عملية تحمل اسم “Save to Google Drive”، تتيح حفظ ملفات PDF مباشرة إلى Google Drive دون تنزيلها على الجهاز أولًا.
تظهر أيقونة Drive ضمن شريط أدوات PDF، ومنها يمكن اختيار الحساب والمجلد المطلوب، لتنتقل الملفات فورًا إلى السحابة وتصبح متاحة عبر جميع أجهزتك المرتبطة بالحساب.
معركة المتصفحات تشتعل
تأتي هذه التحديثات في وقت يواجه فيه كروم منافسة متصاعدة من متصفحات تسعى لتقديم بيئات عمل أكثر تكاملًا. لكن الخطوة الجديدة توضح أن قوقل لا تنوي التخلي عن الصدارة، بل تعمل على دمج أدوات الإنتاجية داخل المتصفح نفسه، لتقليل الاعتماد على التطبيقات الخارجية.

Two tasks at the same time
The standout feature of this update is the Split View, which allows users to open two pages side by side within a single window.
Users no longer need to constantly switch between tabs; they can now watch a tutorial video while taking notes or easily compare content between two websites.
The feature can be activated by right-clicking on a tab and selecting “Open Link in Split View,” or through a dedicated icon next to the address bar. Users can also adjust the size of each section by dragging the divider to suit their workflow.
Goodbye to downloading PDF files
Another significant addition is new tools for handling PDF files directly within the browser.
Previously, opening a PDF file meant downloading it first and then using an external application to edit or sign it. Now, users can highlight text, add notes, and even sign documents directly from Chrome itself.
When opening a PDF file, a new icon appears that opens a flexible toolbar allowing users to change the pen color and size and easily add comments, saving time and enhancing workflow efficiency.
Direct saving to the cloud
Another practical feature called “Save to Google Drive” allows users to save PDF files directly to Google Drive without downloading them to their device first.
The Drive icon appears within the PDF toolbar, from which users can select the account and folder they want, allowing files to be instantly transferred to the cloud and made available across all devices linked to that account.
The browser battle heats up
These updates come at a time when Chrome is facing increasing competition from browsers that aim to provide more integrated work environments. However, this new step shows that Google does not intend to relinquish its lead but is instead working to integrate productivity tools within the browser itself, reducing reliance on external applications.
