TL;DR

  • Gumayusi to HLE and Peyz to T1 is the biggest shift of the offseason.
  • Inspired leaving FlyQuest was the biggest shock of the LCS offseason.
  • Levi hangs up his mouse and keyboard after an incredible career.

The 2026 LoL esports season is off to a flying start, with a couple of major regions already starting their campaigns. With every offseason comes League of Legends roster moves, and one team is always crowned the king of the offseason for forming the latest superteam.

Across the globe, there have been some big LoL roster changes, but which ones will make the most impact in 2026? Stay tuned as we walk you through the biggest roster moves from each major region in League of Legends.

The 5 biggest roster moves of the LoL offseason

LCK: Gumayusi to Hanwha Life and Peyz to T1

There is no other place to start than with multi-time world champion Gumayusi. The South Korean star decided his time on T1 was over, moving on to the highly talented Hanwha Life, which, a year ago, also brought over Zeus from T1. This move had been in the making for some time, following Gumayusi’s benching drama at the start of 2025; it was only a matter of time before the parties severed ties. It will be interesting to see how Gumayusi performs now that he is off T1.

With Gumayusi departing for Hanwha Life, this left the door open for another major player to come in. After his stint in the LPL, Peyz returns to the LCK, joining T1, looking to continue the streak of new players coming in and winning Worlds in their first year. Peyz is undoubtedly talented and deserves another shot with the biggest organization in esports. These were the biggest of the LCK roster moves.

LPL: Viper to Bilibili Gaming

Viper is returning to Bilibili Gaming for another stint in the LPL. The decorated ADC will be taking Elk’s place on this star-studded roster, looking to bring the team and the LPL back to the top of the LoL esports mountain. The carry potential between Bin, Knight, and Viper is as good as it gets in the LPL. They will be the immediate favourites, both domestically and internationally. It was a year to forget for the LPL and Bilibili Gaming on the international stage. This signing could make 2026 a year to remember. As far as LPL roster moves go, this is top-tier.

LCS: Inspired to LYON

Inspired to LYON was one of the LCS roster moves we did not see coming. With FlyQuest being the top dog over the past two years and being in a stable spot as an organization, there weren’t many reasons to leave. LYON, however, offered him a significant financial package he could not refuse, and a solid roster to go along with it. Inspired is undoubtedly the best player in North America, and LYON made sure he knew that. Now that the engine of FLY is no longer in the picture, it’s time for a fresh challenge for the LCS MVP. This move worked out for all parties. Inspired got the payday he deserves, FlyQuest hit the refresh button, and LYON got a superstar-calibre player to match its championship ambitions.

LEC: Busio to Karmine Corp

From the ecstasy of keeping Inspired to the heartache of losing another North American player. Busio made arguably the most surprising move from the West by hopping across the pond to Europe, joining one of the biggest organizations in Karmine Corp. With the current state of North American League of Legends, and with the booming popularity KC has, along with its roadshows, it’s hard to hate the decision from Busio. The NA star was already the best Western support; now he’s joining another team that will help him rack up championships. KC had an up-and-down year, but Busio will likely be the glue that gets the team over the finish line.

LCP: Levi Retires

Although this isn’t technically a player moving from one roster to another, Levi’s retirement is the biggest news out of the LCP region in 2026. Levi came in as a generational player, known for his aggressive plays on the international stage. Levi had a very successful career with GAM, while also making stints in North America and China with 100 Thieves and JDG, respectively. Thank you for an incredible career, Levi. Happy retirement.
