La La Anthony on Beauty, Representation and Confidence

From the small screen to the business boardroom, La La Anthony continues to define what it means to be a modern multi-hyphenate. Beyond her growing acting and producing credits, Anthony has made waves with her ThreeSixty program, and her entrepreneurial drive is chronicled in her bestselling guide, The Power Playbook: Rules for Independence, Money and Success. Her serial-entrepreneurial mindset is matched only by her commitment to championing BIPOC female-led projects—a cause close to her heart.

Now, Anthony is turning her focus to the beauty world, teaming up with Canvas Beauty founder Stormi Steele to debut a capsule edit of her essentials—“powerful products every woman deserves in her beauty arsenal to elevate confidence and enhance everyday performance.” The collaboration was celebrated with a TikTok live event ahead of the platform’s inaugural awards, which Anthony hosted last night.

Founded in 2018, Canvas Beauty began with hair-growth products and has since expanded into a broader beauty lineup known for its body glazes, scented drops and more fragrance-forward offerings. Steele’s leadership as founder and CEO, the brand has redefined what it means to build a modern beauty empire—she is the first creator to generate more than $1 million in sales during a single TikTok Shop live session.

Before the big event, Anthony chatted with us about her connection to Canvas, her evolving beauty routine and why representation and versatility matter more than ever.

What made you decide to work with the brand?

“I had seen Canvas on TikTok for a while and was so impressed and inspired by what Stormi has built and the success she and Canvas have had. It was important to me to align and support a Black-owned business and champion a female entrepreneur.”

Why do you love the products?

“When I finally ordered from Canvas, I was first blown away by the fragrance. Each of the glazes and the roll-ons has a distinct and long-lasting scent. Once I put them on, I loved the consistency of the products, especially how they made my skin feel and glow.”

What is one beauty-related rule you used to follow that you’ve let go of?

“Super thin eyebrows! I know it’s a trend that is coming back, but it’s just not for me.”

How has your beauty routine changed over the years?

“I have started paying attention more to my skin care and being consistent with my routine and the products I use. Part of the reason I’m partnering with Canvas is that I’m excited to use the products every day, and it holds me accountable to my routine.”

You’ve had many iconic hairstyles. Which is your favorite?

“Last year, I went through a phase where I was into red hair. I’m thinking of bringing that back for 2026.”

Why is versatility and representation in the beauty world so important to you?

“Representation and versatility are important to me because it’s affirming to see that there are people like you who look like you having the same concerns with their skin. I think it has gotten better, now that you can turn on the TV or go on TikTok and see these conversations starting to happen, but the work is far from done.”
