More iQOO 15R features confirmed ahead of the February 24 launch

Last week, we got our first look at the iQOO 15R, set to launch on February 24 as the first ‘R’ model in iQOO’s number lineup in India. The brand has already revealed some of the 15R’s features, and today, it detailed the 15R’s display while also revealing the smartphone will be IP68 and IP69-rated.

The iQOO 15R’s punch-hole AMOLED display will have a 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and 5,000 nits of local peak brightness, with the lowest brightness level being 1 nit.

The iQOO 15R’s display will support HDR10+ and feature a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint reader for biometric authentication. The screen’s diagonal hasn’t been officially confirmed, though.

In an email we received from iQOO, it stated that the 15R will feature an 8MP ultrawide-angle camera on the rear. The brand previously confirmed that the 15R’s primary camera will use a 50MP Sony LYT-700V sensor and can record 4K@60FPS videos.

Other previously confirmed features of the iQOO 15R include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, 7,600 mAh battery, 100W wired charging, and bypass charging. Additionally, the iQOO 15R will come with the Q2 Supercomputing Chip, a 6.5K IceCore VC Cooling System, and support for 144 FPS gaming in BGMI through frame interpolation technology.

The iQOO 15R will run OriginOS 6 out of the box and receive OS updates for four years and security updates for six years. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 6, Wi-Fi 7, and NFC. The 15R will also feature an IR Blaster, with the base model priced under INR50,000.
