god of war remake

God of War fans, rejoice—after a few years exploring Kratos’ exploits in Midgard, it looks like Sony is ready to head back to the god-slayer’s roots with the announcement of its God of War Trilogy Remake. The upcoming games are currently in early development, and were announced at the recent Sony State of Play showcase.

The announcement was presented by actor TC Carson, who voiced Kratos in the original trilogy which took place within the confines of Greek mythology. Understandably, not much else was revealed so details including graphical upgrades, gameplay changes and availability are still a mystery, at least at the moment. An official statement from Sony reads:

Over two decades ago in March 2005, God of War came out on the PlayStation 2 – marking the beginning of Kratos’ incredible journey through ancient Greece and beyond.

As we approach the final month of God of War’s 20th anniversary year in March 2026, we couldn’t let this milestone close without giving fans one last big surprise!
