The divine presence of Irippood Sree Bhadrakali Temple will radiate spiritual fervor during the grand Pongala Mahotsavam 2026, observed on March 20 and 21, 2026 (Malayalam Era 1201, Meenam 6 & 7). This sacred festival, dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali the embodiment of supreme Shakti is a celebration of devotion, surrender, and divine grace.

As the skies glow with festive brilliance and village pathways fill with devotees clad in traditional attire, the temple becomes the epicenter of faith and unity. The Pongala Mahotsavam is not merely a ritualistic gathering but a profound spiritual experience where prayer, tradition, and cultural heritage converge.

5:30 AM – Nada Thurakkal (Temple Opening)

The temple doors open, followed by Abhishekam and Malar Nivedyam, invoking divine blessings at dawn.

7:00 AM – Usha Pooja

Morning worship offered with devotion and sacred chants.

10:00 AM – Shuddhikriyas

Purification rituals to sanctify the temple atmosphere.

12:00 PM – Ucha Pooja

Midday worship.

12:30 PM – Annadanam

Community feast symbolizing compassion and equality.

4:00 PM – Akhanda Namajapam

Continuous chanting of divine names, filling the air with spiritual resonance.

4:30 PM – Kodimaram Murikkal

Ceremonial preparation associated with festival rites.

5:30 PM – Nada Thurakkal

Temple reopening for evening rituals.

6:15 PM – Deeparadhana

Lamp worship illuminating the temple with sacred radiance.

7:00 PM – Bhagavathi Seva

Devotional offering to Goddess Bhadrakali.

7:30 PM – Kodiyettu

Second Day – March 21, 2026 (Saturday)

5:00 AM – Palliyunarthal & Nirmalya Darshanam

Ceremonial awakening of the Goddess and sacred early morning darshan.

6:00 AM – Ashtadravya Ganapathi Homam

Powerful fire ritual invoking Lord Ganesha’s blessings.

8:30 AM – Pongala Samarpanam

The most sacred ritual of the festival, where women devotees prepare offerings symbolizing surrender, gratitude, and prayer fulfillment.

11:00 AM – Kalasham & Navakam Pooja

Followed by Kalashabhishekam, sanctifying the deity.

12:00 PM – Ucha Pooja

1:00 PM – Prasada Oottu (Annadanam)

4:30 PM – Kazhcha Seeveli

Ceremonial procession within temple premises.

6:30 PM – Deeparadhana

Presented by Nadam Orchestra, Nellikkara, offering an evening of devotional melodies.

8:00 PM – Sahasra Deepa Samarpanam

Conducted after Kodiyettu as per temple tradition.

Kaikottikali & Devotional Performances
