Snapdragon confirmed for the Nothing Phone (4a) lineup
Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Is The Strongest Candidate
Based on recent leaks and benchmark appearances, the standard model is widely expected to feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4. The chip is built on a 4nm process and is said to include a Cortex-A720 prime core clocked around 2.7GHz, supported by additional performance and efficiency cores, along with an Adreno GPU.

In practical terms, that setup should bring incremental gains in performance and power efficiency compared to the previous generation. The improvements are likely to be evolutionary rather than dramatic, but still enough to keep the (4a) series competitive in the mid-range segment. Unfortunately, those who were expecting a flagship killer won’t see the same performance of Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 smartphones.
Pro Model’s Chipset Remains a Mystery
Details about the Pro variant remain less consistent. Some reports point to the same Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, while others suggest a possible upgrade to a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip to create a clearer separation between the two models. It would be interesting if Nothing comes up with a Snapdragon 8 Elite for this phone, but that probably won’t be the case, as this chip isn’t even available in the regular Nothing Phone (3).

Shared Specs and Glyph Lighting Differences
Beyond the processor, both devices are rumored to retain several core specifications. This includes a 5,400mAh battery paired with 50W wired charging and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom across the lineup.
The most visible distinction may come from the rear lighting system. The standard Nothing Phone (4a) is expected to adopt a simplified “Glyph Bar” with nine individually controlled LEDs. It might offer a cleaner and more minimal lighting effect. Meanwhile, the Pro version could introduce a more advanced “Glyph Matrix” setup, potentially influenced by higher-end Nothing models with a more complex rear lighting interface.
