Spotify recently announced that it’s rolling out availability of its Prompted Playlist feature to more users, including Premium subscribers in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, as well as Sweden. Prompted Playlist allows users to create new lists simply by describing their preferences, although it’s still in beta.
The feature was first announced in late 2025, and initially arrived for Premium subscribers in New Zealand. With Prompted Playlists, users can type pretty much anything to base their playlist on, such as moods, memories, TV shows, activities and more, and the built-in algorithm will use this in combination with your listening history to curate a new playlist. Users can also edit their prompts or restart the whole process should they wish to do so.

Spotify even listed some examples on how to give the app more specific prompts, such as a “nostalgia-fueled mix of 2000s British pop” or “going deep on one new-to-you artist”. That being said, there are usage limits are in place, which might change based on listener listener feedback as Spotify continues working on the beta feature.
