A new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has it that Apple is working on three new wearable devices. The three wearable devices are: smart glasses, AirPods with cameras and expanded AI capabilities and a pendant that can be pinned to a shirt or worn as a necklace.

These upcoming devices from Apple are built around the Siri digital assistant, which relies on visual context to perform actions. All of the products will be paired to an iPhone and feature cameras too; except that the AirPods and pendant will come with lower-resolution cameras to help the AI, and not to take photos or videos.
According to Tim Cook, Apple CEO, the company is working on new categories of products enabled by AI. Apple is investing in new technology as the world changes fast. The pendant is an iPhone accessory and not a device that will replace your iPhone. It will serve as an always-on camera for the iPhone, with a mic for talking to Siri.
The pendant won’t even have as much processing power as an Apple Watch. Some of Apple’s staff refer to it as the’ eyes and ears’ of the iPhone. If Apple doesn’t change its mind, it will arrive in 2027.
The same applies to Apple’s smart glasses; they will arrive next year too, and won’t have a screen. They will come with speakers, mics, and two cameras. One of which is for high-resolution imagery and the other is dedicated to computer vision. It will give the device an environmental context, helping to accurately interpret surroundings and measure distance between objects.
The frames are developed in a variety of sizes and colours. These will be different from Meta’s Ray-Bans. As long as the battery doesn’t run down, the glasses see what you’re doing in real time as it functions as an all-day AI companion. With the glasses, you will get assistance with everyday tasks. They also add event data from a poster to a calendar and create context-aware reminders, (like prompting you to grab an item when you’re looking at a specific shelf in a grocery store).
Moreso, in terms of navigation, Siri references real-world landmarks and tells you to walk past a described vehicle or building before making a turn. Apple desperately wants to unveil something huge. If it doesn’t get cancelled, Apple really has to work out these designs for them to be successful.
