Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s Haiwaan locks Rs 80 crore non theatrical deal with Sony, over 70 percent budget already recovered

The pre release business for Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s next big screen reunion is heating up fast, and the numbers are already doing the talking. Haiwaan, the Priyadarshan directed thriller, has now landed a major non theatrical deal that significantly cushions the film’s financial risk even before its release date is officially announced.

Latest Update: Sony Acquires Satellite, Digital And Music Rights For Rs 80 Crore

Box Office Worldwide has exclusively learned that Haiwaan’s non theatrical rights have been sold for Rs 80 crore, covering satellite, digital and music. The package has been picked up by Sony, which emerged as the highest bidder after multiple players showed interest in the film.

As per the information shared from within the deal, the rights sale has helped the makers recover more than 70 percent of their overall investment already. It is a significant early win for the project, especially in a market where big ticket films increasingly rely on strong ancillary revenue to balance production costs.

The same development also reinforces the strong trade value of Akshay Kumar in the non theatrical space, while also underlining the curiosity around his long awaited on screen reunion with Saif Ali Khan.

A tentative release window is being eyed for August 2026, with the film’s team said to be looking at a clean theatrical run and avoiding a crowded period.
