It’s no news that Samsung’s new phones (Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra) have launched. Though it was expected that the Galaxy S26 Pro and Edge would unveil this year, as part of the main line of phones to replace the standard S26 and Plus versions. It was probably because of the S25 Edge’s frosty reception that things didn’t go down as planned. There’s the likelihood that in 2027 a Pro and Edge makeover will arrive.

However, the S26 Ultra features some flair that you can’t find in the S26. It’s expected that Samsung will include the elements to the S27 Pro.

It’s unfortunate that Samsung no longer uses titanium in its phones to improve thermal management. Using this material would have been the best way to highlight the S27 Pro’s new premium direction.

On the camera part, the Galaxy S26 has good cameras, but they’re not the same with tas of the S26 Ultra. There should be something that sets the Ultra apart. The transition to Pro needs to change that. The 50MP telephoto zoom is supposed to feature in the Ultra alone, showing its position at the top of the food chain. Then, the 200MP main lens and 50MP ultrawide lens are supposed to be merged with the present 10MP telephoto lens to make the S27 Pro‘s camera to stand out as a tempting enticement away from the Ultra.

Also, Samsung has to increase the charging on the S27 Pro, as the Galaxy S26 already has 25W of wired charging. Other devices like Google’s Pixels, Motorola’s Razr and flagship phones, and Apple’s iPhones have already surpassed 25W.

The company can push it up to 30W or even 45W. Whether it’s a Pro or not, it’s important this upgrade on the S27’s charging speed takes place.

Moreover, Samsung has taken a step in the right direction by chopping out the 128GB variant from the Galaxy S26, having figured out that starting the device at 256GB in 2026 would be better for the users. Samsung needs to take it higher by opening up the higher tiers for the S27 Pro, like giving it a 1TB option.

Moreso, Samsung can make the Pro stand out by removing the Plus and slotting the Edge in instead. This will bring about a positive development to the S27 Pro, as the S27 Edge won’t be the S27 Plus with a specs refresh. With this, the S27 Pro will no longer look like the smaller version of Plus, rather a smaller Ultra.

Samsung is expected to make good use of the fact that the S27 Pro is bound by what the S27 Ultra is, to create a device with the befitting name, “Pro.” By truly becoming a part of the Ultra family, the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro should be able to redefine what it means to be a Galaxy S-range phone.
