It’s official: Mother Science is landing at Sephora—and if you haven’t heard of Malassezin yet, you’re about to.
Starting March 4 on Sephora.com and March 13 in stores nationwide, the science-forward skin-care brand will make its brick-and-mortar retail debut, bringing its full lineup of clinically proven products to one of beauty’s most coveted shelves.
Mother Science was founded in 2023 by Grammy-nominated musicians Mike Einziger (guitarist for Incubus) and violinist Ann Marie Simpson Einziger, whose curiosity about a harmless skin condition she developed on tour in 2016 led the couple to assemble a team of leading scientists and uncover Malassezin—an antioxidant ten times more powerful than vitamin C and the cornerstone of the brand.

Mother Science Molecular Hero Serum ($89) is a first-of-its-kind serum that harnesses Malassezin to target dark spots and sun damage for a brighter, more youthful-looking complexion.
Mother Science Retinol Synergist ($96) pairs Malassezin and retinol together for the first time, combining wrinkle-reducing and barrier-strengthening benefits while helping to mitigate retinol’s common side effects like dryness and irritation.
Mother Science Molecular Genesis Barrier Repair Moisturizer ($68) features Malassezin alongside growth factors, peptides, squalane and hyaluronic acid to instantly repair the skin barrier and deliver visibly smoother, firmer skin.
