The newly released Galaxy Buds 4 and Galaxy Buds 4 Pro support ultra-high quality or UHQ audio. Audiophiles are pleased as they get support for 24-bit Hi-Fi too.

The Galaxy Buds 4 series supports 24bit/96kHz ultra-high quality audio playback through the SSC code that’s proprietary to Samsung. It tops that off with support for 360-degree audio and direct multi-channel audio.
There are specific features that don’t work with all devices you may pair the earbuds with and knowing them will enable you take complete advantage of the capabilities.

Galaxy Buds 4 Ultra-High Quality Audio Support
According to Samsung, UHQ audio is only supported when you pair the Galaxy Buds 4 with any of the following devices: Galaxy S23/S24/S25/S26, Galaxy Z Fold 5/6/7, Galaxy Z Flip 5/6/7, Galaxy Z TriFold or a Galaxy Tab S9 series device running One UI 6.1.1 or above. Though support for additional devices is likely to be added in the future.
However, pairing the earbuds with the right device isn’t all there is. The audio source also matters. You won’t get the UHQ experience if you’re streaming from Spotify or YouTube. In this case, you’ll require an audio source like Tidal or Amazon Music Unlimited. This will actually supply higher-quality audio streaming.
