The South Korean company is planning big again in an effort to make the next Galaxy phone to be manufactured by AI. This is evident in the company’s strategy for the past years.
According to Samsung, the recently launched Galaxy S26 is its “third-generation AI phone,” and this AI narrative doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon.
However, about three years ago, the company introduced an in-house AI model called Gauss. This was specially designed for employees. As it is now, Samsung plans to automate global manufacturing using AI.
The company discussed its new AI ambition at Mobile World Congress 2026. The aim is to change global manufacturing into “AI-driven factories” by the year 2030.
The goal of the company is for its AI systems to govern the whole manufacturing chain, from material production and logistics to quality control and final shipment. One of the first steps will be implementing digital twin-based simulations in manufacturing. It will be followed by AI agents for quality control, logistics, and production.
Moreover, Samsung plans to expand AI across Health, Safety, and Environmental operations. It wants predictive detection and automated hazard prevention systems to improve workplace safety in all its factories globally. It aims to achieve all of that by 2030.
The good news is that Samsung says its Agentic AI, first introduced with the Galaxy S26 series, is at the heart of this transformation. Then again, Agentic AI can plan long-term, execute tasks, and optimize decisions with minimal human supervision.
Samsung believes strongly that Agentic AI systems, similar to those used by the Galaxy S26, will power its global manufacturing infrastructure within the next four years. This technology is likely to achieve the following aims: enhance workflows, repair operations, predictive maintenance as well as logistics coordination. Samsung wants to create a next-generation autonomous manufacturing environment.
