Capcom’s Latest Resident Evil Game Hits a New Sales Milestone

After launching a month ago to impressive critic and user reviews, it goes without saying that Capcom’s latest instalment in its Resident Evil video game franchise—aka Resident Evil Requiem—is one of the most successful gaming titles in 2026 so far, so much so that it’s set a new sales record for the series overall.

New data shows that Requiem has managed to sell 6 million copies so far, making it one of the best-selling Resident Evil games of all time. The game was officially launched on February 27, 2026 and follows the adventures of Grace Ashcroft as she uncovers a web of mysteries filled with horror, all the while trying to stay alive throughout the entire game. The game also features veteran character Leon Kennedy as a playable character during the campaign.

That being said, Resident Evil Requiem isn’t the only recent game release that’s been selling like hotcakes over the past several weeks—just recently, Nintendo revealed that Pokemon Pokopia managed to sell 2.2 million units during its first four days on the market, following its launch on March 5th. This is all the more impressive as the game is only available for the newer Switch 2 console, and isn’t part of the Pokemon franchise’s mainline games

Going back to Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom says that it’s planning on releasing follow-up content for the game, which is now available on several platforms including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch 2.
