The annual festival of Sree Udiyannoor Devi Temple, Maruthamkuzhi, Thiruvananthapuram will be celebrated with great devotion from April 19 to April 28, 2026 (Medam 06 to Medam 15). The temple is one of the well-known spiritual centers in South Kerala where devotees worship Goddess Bhadradevi and Goddess Durga with deep faith and devotion.
The temple has a long spiritual history in Thiruvananthapuram and is considered a powerful place of worship where devotees pray for success, protection, health, and prosperity. Devotees believe that Udiyannoor Amma blesses her devotees like a mother and removes all difficulties from their lives.
Festival Flag Hoisting and Utsavam Details
The festival begins on April 19, 2026 (Sunday) at 7:00 PM with Thrikodiyettu (flag hoisting). After the flag hoisting, the festival continues for 10 days with special poojas, temple rituals, cultural programs, and devotional ceremonies as per traditional customs.
The festival concludes on April 28, 2026 (Tuesday) with Arattu ceremony and Kodiyirakkam marking the end of the annual celebration.
During the festival days, devotees can participate in poojas, annadanam, evening food distribution, and special offerings conducted in the temple.
Udiyannoor Pongala 2026 Date and Time
The most important event of the festival is Udiyannoor Pongala, which will be held on April 23, 2026 at 10:00 AM.
Pongala is considered a sacred offering to the Goddess and is a symbol of devotion, surrender, and women’s spiritual strength. Thousands of devotees prepare Pongala as offering to Udiyannoor Amma.
Pongala Nivedyam will be performed at 12:10 PM after the preparation.
Devotees from different places gather every year to participate in this holy ritual and receive the blessings of the Goddess.

Sree Udiyannoor Devi is worshipped as Adi Parashakti, the divine mother who protects the world and guides devotees in their spiritual path. The Goddess is believed to remove obstacles, grant wishes, and provide health, peace, and prosperity.
