Netflix‘s best shows all have talented ensembles, and that could not be different for one of the biggest sci-fi series to ever come out of the streaming service. It has been a busy last couple of years for Netflix when the topic becomes sci-fi. After all, one of Netflix’s biggest shows of all time, Stranger Things, came to an end in 2025.
However, its first spinoff, the animated Stranger Things: Tales from ’85, is going to be released on April 23. Aside from that, Netflix’s 2026 lineup of shows includes other exciting sci-fi releases. For fans of the genre, the streaming service will always be a great starting place to find mind-bending concepts. In one of Netflix’s best sci-fi series, its star-studded ensemble makes the difference.
This Netflix Sci-Fi Series’ Cast Is Star-Studded
Black Mirror was labeled a Netflix Original series from season 3 onward. The dark series, which was created by Charlie Brooker, has released seven seasons so far, with an eighth on the way. Black Mirror is an anthology series, with each episode telling a standalone story that shows the dark uses of advanced technology. With time, those scenarios have become more realistic.
That is, in itself, quite scary, and the show’s unnerving storylines would not work if the Netflix sci-fi series did not have the talent to back them up. Every new season of Black Mirror offers a healthy mix of veterans, rising stars, and unknowns. Names like Bryce Dallas Howard, Jon Hamm, Cristin Milioti, Jesse Plemons, Aaron Paul, Hayley Atwell, Wyatt Russell, and many more have passed through the show.
With such an elite group of actors injecting the Netflix series’ mind-bending storylines with complex human emotions, it is easy to see why Black Mirror has become such a hit. On Rotten Tomatoes, Black Mirror has a high 83% critics’ score. Fans rate it just a bit lower, with the Netflix sci-fi series achieving an 80% audience score.
Why Black Mirror Will Never Run Out Of Good Actors
Black Mirror easily has one of the best casts for a Netflix show, and that will continue to ring true for as long as the sci-fi series keeps going. Given how Black Mirror is highly-regarded as prestige TV, with every new season feeling like an event, top-level talent is always watching the show for an opportunity to come play for an episode.
Additionally, Black Mirror‘s biggest seasons so far have consisted of only six episodes, which means that the Netflix sci-fi series is not exactly burning through that many actors per season. By following a formula of casting major actors, rising stars, and a set of unknowns, the show will always remain fresh in terms of casting, setting Black Mirror apart from most series.
