The campaign for Ramayana has finally hit a concrete milestone. The film’s Rama glimpse has been certified with a runtime of 2 minutes and 38 seconds, confirming that the long-awaited first look will arrive on April 2. For a project that has remained tightly guarded for months, this is the update that turns curiosity into a countdown.
With Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi leading Nitesh Tiwari’s mythological epic, the certified runtime signals that the makers are preparing a substantial first presentation rather than a fleeting teaser. That sets up April 2 as the film’s first major audience-facing moment.
Hanuman Jayanti Sets The Stage For Ramayana’s First Big Reveal
Producer Namit Malhotra had already confirmed that Rama would be unveiled on April 2 on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. In his social media note, he wrote, “Shubh Rama Navami, This is a story that belongs to all of us, and every step we take has been guided by a deep sense of responsibility, devotion, and care to bring our very own Ramayana to life in its truest spirit and scale with utmost sincerity.”
He added, “We look forward to sharing the next glimpse, ‘Rama’ on 2nd April, on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, as we begin to showcase all these years of our effort through a grand launch with fans to celebrate this moment, across the world. Thank you for your love, faith, and patience.”
The glimpse brings together a cast lineup that has already made the film one of the most discussed titles on the horizon. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi stars as Sita, Yash takes on Ravana, while Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey are set as Hanuman and Lakshman respectively.
What A 2 Minute 38 Second Ramayana Glimpse Can Deliver
A 2 minute 38 second runtime gives the makers enough room to do far more than flash a logo or offer a montage of dramatic frames. It opens the door for a carefully cut introduction to the film’s visual world, character imagery and tonal ambition, especially for a story mounted on such a large canvas. For audiences waiting to see how this adaptation balances reverence with spectacle, the Rama glimpse is expected to offer the first real sense of that design.
Ramayana is directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra as a two-part theatrical epic. The film also carries a notable music collaboration between Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman. The story draws from the ancient Indian epic and follows the journey of Lord Ram, with the adaptation aiming to bring the familiar saga to the screen at a global scale. The first installment is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 theatrical release, while the second part is planned for 2027.
With the glimpse now certified and the launch date already locked, Ramayana has moved decisively into reveal mode. April 2 is no longer just another date attached to an ambitious film. It is the moment when one of Indian cinema’s biggest in-development spectacles finally begins showing its hand.
