In this role, you will work at the interface between customers and our internal product and engineering teams. You will play a key role in pre-sales technical support, customer integration projects, and post-sales product support. Success in this position means enabling our customers to integrate our detector solutions seamlessly into demanding security and industrial systems while strengthening long-term customer relationships and supporting business growth in the region.
Your Role
As an Application Engineer, you will act as a technical expert in customer discussions and projects. You will translate customer requirements into clear technical specifications, support feasibility evaluations, and contribute to defining competitive and robust solutions. You will also ensure that insights from customer cases are systematically fed back into product development and roadmap planning.
Responsibilities
A) Supporting Product Managers and Account Managers in pre-sales work
- Work as an interface in technical discussions between customers and DT, providing technical support and consultancy to customers
- Understand customer needs, bring up solutions and formulate technical proposals
- Negotiate and finalize technical specifications with customers
B) Provide after-sales product support for customers
- Support customers to succeed in the integration of DT’s product as a core part of the system, which can be a state-of-art security scanner, sophisticated industrial inspection equipment, a single detector setup in a lab, or other critical device on field of security and safety
- Work closely with DT’s Customer Services, Product Management, Engineering, Sourcing and Quality Teams
- Leading RMA cases of DT India customers
- Leading/coordinating customer Support cases (pre- and aftersales) for DT India customers
C) Supporting, Studying and evaluating potential applications and markets
- Participate in the preparation of knowledge articles, application notes, user manuals, product presentations and other technical materials
- Provide application requirements and other proposals as input to DT’s development planning.
What we Expect
- Master’s degree in electronics engineering or equivalent.
- 2–5 years of experience in a technical role related to opto-electronics, semiconductor devices, or X-ray systems.
- Experience in system integration or technical support.
- Ability to understand embedded firmware and software structures and functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-driven mindset and structured working approach.
- Excellent communication skills, including strong listening and questioning capabilities.
- Willingness to travel.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to communicate with our Global support team outside of “normal” working hours.
Experience in flat panel X-ray detectors or imaging systems is considered an advantage.
