Qatar’s Amir and Spain’s Prime Minister discussed the latest developments in the U.S.-Israel war on Iran during a phone call.

Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a phone call from Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on Monday.

During the call, the leaders discussed the latest developments in the U.S.-Israel war on Iran, and the repercussions on “on maritime security in the region.”

Sánchez reaffirmed Spain’s support and solidarity with Qatar amid the ongoing Iranian attacks.

Sheikh Tamim and Sánchez also discussed efforts underway to control the situation and ease tensions, including developments in Lebanon, where the need for de-escalation and strengthening stability was highlighted.

The leaders also reviewed the bilateral relations between Qatar and Spain and ways to support and develop them across various fields.

This comes following a phone call between Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares and Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Monday.

Albares expressed his country’s support for Qatar following the Iranian attacks on the country and the wider region amid the ongoing U.S.–Israel war on Iran.
