The conversation around Ramayana has only grown louder since its first major unveiling, and producer Namit Malhotra has now addressed that wave of public scrutiny in a deeply personal note. As reactions poured in over the film’s early promotional material and the decision to unveil key footage internationally first, Malhotra responded by stressing that the team is paying close attention to audience sentiment.

In his statement, Malhotra wrote, “The response over the past few days has truly been overwhelming, inspiring, and humbling.” He added that seeing how “our Rama continues to touch so many hearts across the world” had filled him with “deep humility and joy.” The note also made clear that the makers view every reaction, supportive or critical, as part of the film’s ongoing dialogue with viewers.

Namit Malhotra Addresses The Backlash

Malhotra’s message directly acknowledged the intense debate surrounding the film. “We’re listening closely, working diligently, and pouring every effort possible into honoring it with the reverence it holds,” he said, underlining that the feedback has not gone unheard. He also highlighted the sheer scale of the production, saying that “many thousands of artists and collaborators” are working passionately to deliver the best possible version of the film.

The strongest line in the note came when he framed the project as a shared responsibility. “This is our Ramayana. It belongs to us all, and that shared emotion and massive responsibility to make every Indian proud, is what drives me forward every single day,” he wrote. He then confirmed the immediate goal ahead, telling audiences that what they had seen so far was “just the beginning” and that the team is striving to bring the epic to life “this Diwali on the biggest screens.”

Film’s first glimpse was released last week on Hanuman Jayanti on 2nd April and met with some mixed response.

Inside The Cast, Scale, And Diwali 2026 Plan

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The film is being produced by Namit Malhotra under Prime Focus Studios and DNEG, along with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The project has been mounted as a two-part theatrical event, with the first installment scheduled for Diwali 2026 and the second planned for 2027.

The film has already drawn outsized attention for its ambition, visual scale, and casting, making every public update part of a much larger build-up. That is why Malhotra’s note lands as more than a routine clarification. It positions the team as responsive rather than defensive, and sets the tone for how the makers may navigate audience expectations as the road to release continues. With the Diwali 2026 target now firmly in focus, the next phase of Ramayana will be watched as closely as its first reveal.
