Published and developed by Purple Ray Studio, a team comprised of industry veterans who previously worked on titles such as Resident Evil Village and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, Koshmar’s stylized graphics firmly see it landing in spookier territory, but not without allowing the occasional dash of whimsy to shine through.

Koshmar: The Last Reverie Gameplay
Gameplay-wise, Koshmar: The Last Reverie revolves around using protagonist Violet’s unique ability to escape her bleak reality and venture into other people’s nightmares.
“How the player progresses through Violet’s physical world, exploring new places and meeting new characters, or approaches the nightmarish realms of those affected by the sleeping plague, will have impacts on how she perceives, and is perceived by the world in return,” the publisher explains in a press release.
Violet has access to both dream and nightmare weapon styles which, when used “unlock resources that amplify dream-like delusions, or invite maddening mentality when [she] returns to the real world.” Aside from unlocking new combat abilities, using them also alters her appearance.
Aside from combat encounters, Koshmar: The Last Reverie also features platforming sections and puzzles while promising replayability through its nightmare rifts.

Koshmar: The Last Reverie’s story follows Violet, a teenager growing up in a small town, whose subconscious we get to witness firsthand. Facing the nightmares assailing both her dreams and realities, “she must venture into the depths of the darkness and risk her sanity to protect those affected by the sleeping sickness.”
