لقيت طفلة مصرعها جراء هطول أمطار غزيرة على جمهورية الدومينيكان, التي ألحقت أضرارًا واسعة لأكثر من ألف منزل، وتسببت في انقطاع إمدادات الكهرباء والمياه، مما دفع السلطات إلى إعلان حالة التأهب وتعليق الدراسة في عدة مناطق.
وأوضحت هيئة الدفاع المدني بجمهورية الدومينيكان أن طفلة تبلغ من العمر عامين لقيت مصرعها جراء انهيار جدار منزلها في العاصمة سانتو دومينجو التي تعد الأكثر تضررًا، وأجبرت الفيضانات فرق الإنقاذ على إجلاء أكثر من 5 آلاف شخص بعد أن شهدت بعض المناطق هطول 30 سنتيمترًا من الأمطار خلال أقل من 24 ساعة.

The Civil Defense Agency of the Dominican Republic stated that a two-year-old girl died when a wall of her home collapsed in the capital, Santo Domingo, which is the most affected area. The floods forced rescue teams to evacuate more than 5,000 people after some regions experienced 30 centimeters of rain in less than 24 hours.
