Dombivli (Thane) – At a haldi ceremony here, singer Sunny Sante mocked the famous devotional song of Shri Ekvira Devi. He altered the original lyrics of the Goddess’s song and inserted lines such as ‘Allah mera kise prasann hua? Prasann hua Rafiq aa, Rafiq aa mandap mein, Prasann hua Mohammad aa, Mohammad aa mandap mein.’ He also used abusive words in between.

Although the guests dancing to the song were Hindus, no one present objected at the time. However, following a firm intervention by the ‘Agari-Koli Hindutvanishth Sanghatan’, the singer issued a formal apology saying, “In future, such a mistake will not be made by me. I seek forgiveness. Even if someone demands that I sing such a song, I will not sing it. Even if my orchestra is shut down, I will accept it.”

Opposing this mockery, Shubham Salunkhe, District Publicity Chief of Vishva Hindu Parishad and Co-convenor of Ambernath Bajrang Dal, expressed strong outrage on social media and said, “If this person comes to my notice, I will smash his head; and if he falls into someone else’s hands and they smash his head, I myself will bear the cost of their bail.”

‘This is all just for entertainment’ – Singer Sunny Sante

While singing the song, singer Sunny Sante was requesting everyone that this was all just for entertainment. No one should make a video of it, as it would lead to trouble and the programme would be shut down.
