Kolhapur, Maharashtra — Hindu organisations took out a protest march in the city against the abuse of a Hindu girl at Shiroli Pulachi and the circulation of her video. The protest march started from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, and passed through various routes of the city before reaching the District Collector’s office.
At the concluding occasion of the march, representatives of several organisations were present, including Sagar Kurade of Shri Shivpratishthan Hindusthan, Sanjay Sakpal of Shiv Sena, Pritam Kapse of BJP, Vijaya Vesanekar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Amol Korvi of Shri Ram Sena, Rajendra Tarle of BJP, Mahesh Kori, Sandeep Nathbuva, Vishwanath Patil (District Minister of Bajrang Dal South Division), and Sudarshan Chavan, along with other activists. The speakers strongly condemned the Shiroli incident and demanded strict punishment for the culprits.
After the conclusion of the march, a memorandum was submitted to the concerned officials and police administration at the Sub-Divisional office. A large number of office-bearers and representatives from Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS), Bajrang Dal, Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Shri Shivpratishthan Hindusthan, BJP, Shiv Sena, Shri Ram Sena, and other organisations participated in this march.
People participating in the march against ‘love jihad’ also carried various posters and placards spreading awareness.
