Al Gharafa clinched the Amir Cup with a commanding 4-1 win over Al Sadd in the final of the 54th edition of the Amir Cup at Khalifa International Stadium on Saturday, securing the title for a second consecutive year.
Crowds erupted moments before kick‑off as Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived at the stadium to attend the final.
The moment the whistle went off, an atmosphere of anticipation ensued as fans waited to see who would score the leading goal. Then, within 20 minutes, Al Gharafa’s player number 13, Ferjani Sassi, scored his team’s opening score, placing it at the lead.
Six minutes later, Yacine Brahimi doubled the lead, heightening the pressure on Al Sadd as the first half drew to a close with five minutes of added time.
The game got more intense in the second half, with Brahimi scoring the third goal for Al Gharafa in minute 62, increasing Al Gharafa’s chances of clinching the title in the second consecutive edition of the Amir Cup.
Al Sadd pulled one back in the 87th minute through Javairo Dilrosun, setting up a tense finish as six minutes of stoppage time were added. But Brahimi, in standout form throughout the match, completed his hat‑trick in the 90th minute to seal Al Gharafa’s emphatic victory and confirm their successful title defence.
