ISLAMABAD, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th May, 2026) Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan, on Monday, met a delegation of students from Quaid-i-Azam University at Parliament House.
During the meeting, the students apprised the Deputy Chairman of the Senate of various academic issues, including scholarships, research opportunities, hostel facilities, and other challenges being faced by students.
The students emphasized the need for greater governmental support for the education sector and the promotion of student-friendly policies.
They highlighted concerns related to scholarships and other academic matters and called for effective measures to address students’ difficulties.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Chairman of the Senate Syedaal Khan stated that education is the foundation of a nation’s development, prosperity, and stability, while the youth represent the country’s most valuable asset and a bright future.
He said that the Senate has always played an effective role in promoting education, supporting youth welfare, and addressing challenges faced by educational institutions.
He noted that issues concerning students, scholarships, higher education budgets, and the challenges confronting universities have consistently been highlighted in the Upper House.
The Deputy Chairman of the Senate further stated that resolving students’ issues is a collective responsibility and that the government is taking serious measures to provide maximum facilities and relief to the youth.
He added that continuous coordination is being maintained with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and other relevant institutions to enhance scholarships, promote research activities, and improve modern educational facilities.
He also said that efforts are being made to strengthen coordination with universities so that more students can benefit from scholarships, research grants, and quality educational opportunities. Reaffirming the government’s commitment, he stated that providing quality education, a better academic environment, and equal opportunities to the youth remains among the government’s top priorities.
Senate Syedaal Khan urged students to devote their full attention to education, research, and positive activities so that they can play a constructive role in the development and progress of the country in the future.
