LAYYAH, (APP – UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th May, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Layyah,Hassan Javed Bhatti on Wednesday suspended an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) posted at City Police Station over allegations of corruption and misuse of authority.
According to police sources,ASI Rana Riaz along with a constable and a police Razakaar,allegedly received illegal gratification amounting to Rs.330,000 from citizens.
Taking notice of the allegations,the DPO ordered the immediate suspension of the ASI and directed an inquiry into the matter.
Sources said several complaints of a similar nature had previously been filed against the officer.
The incident comes amid ongoing efforts by police authorities in Layyah to curb corruption and ensure accountability within the department.
