Vanessa Trump has been diagnosed with breast cancer at 48.
“While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan,” Trump wrote in a statement posted via Instagram on Wednesday, May 20, while sharing news of her personal health battle. “I would like to thank my doctors for performing a procedure earlier this week on me. I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.”
The mother of five went on to thank everyone who reached out to her with kind words and support, noting “it truly means more than I can express.” (Vanessa and her ex-husband, Donald Trump Jr., welcomed Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe during their 13-year marriage. The exes tied the knot in 2005 and split in 2018.)
Vanessa concluded her statement by asking for privacy and vowing to focus on her “health and recovery.”

Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump and the late Ivana Trump, was among those who replied in the comments section, writing to her former sister-in-law, “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you mama.”
Vanessa and Donald Jr., 48, have both moved on romantically since their split. She quietly began dating golf star Tiger Woods in late 2024 and the couple went public in February 2025.
“Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side!” Woods, 50, gushed via Instagram last March. “We look forward to our journey through life together.”
As for how they grew close, The Daily Mail reported that Woods’ and Vanessa’s children attend the same school. (Woods shares daughter Sam, 17, and son Charlie, 16, with ex-wife Elin Nordegren, whom he was married to from 2004 to 2010.)
According to a Sunday, May 17, report by People, Woods and Vanessa are “still very much in love” after the athlete’s DUI car crash in March.
A source said they were “happy to see each other” when Woods returned home to Jupiter, Florida, following his six-week inpatient treatment program in Switzerland. (Woods pleaded not guilty to charges of misdemeanor DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test).
Donald Jr. is engaged to socialite Bettina Anderson, whom he has been dating since mid-2024.
In December 2025, President Trump announced at the White House that his eldest son popped the question, per a video Laura Loomer published on X.
“I’m not usually at a loss for words, because I’m usually doing the ranting and raving really well,” Donald Jr. said during the announcement. “I want to thank Bettina for that one word: ‘Yes.’”
