With newer vehicles nowadays using advanced infotainment and management software platforms, it’s a bit unsurprising to see more and more manufacturers team up with big names in tech and IoT fields to gain a lead on the competition. Take for example Stellantis, which recently announced a new multi-year partnership with Qualcomm for its Snapdragon Digital Chassis system-on-chips (SoCs).

According to Stellantis, the deal is aimed at essentially combining Snapdragon Digital Chassis tech with Stellantis’ own STLA Brain platform, which manages advanced driver assistance (ADAS), cockpit and connectivity management, and more. The deal also covers Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride Pilot ADAS system, which brings Level 2+ hands-free functionality to select Stellantis models worldwide.

Stellantis adds that the collaboration will pave the way for improved compute performance and AI-based features. Ned Curic, Chief Engineering and Technology Officer at Stellantis comments:

Our customers deserve seamless, next-generation experiences that continuously evolve to meet their driving needs. By deploying this intelligent platform across our global portfolio, Stellantis is delivering on that promise with unprecedented speed and efficiency. This is made possible through our strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, which allows us to scale smarter, connected capabilities across all our brands.
