LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 27th Jul, 2025) A special ceremony was held at the Central Police Office to acknowledge the exceptional performance of police officers and personnel involved in successful operations against Khawarij terrorists.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, 42 officers and officials from Dera Ghazi Khan were awarded commendation certificates and cash prizes in recognition of their bravery and effectiveness. The award recipients included personnel from Jhangi and Lakhani police check posts, Police Station Wohwa, the Special Operations Unit (SOU), and the Elite Force.
The spokesperson further shared that the honoured officers had participated in a high-risk intelligence-based operation in the areas of Basti Lakhani, Daulat Wala, and Kot Mubarak. During the operation, four dangerous Khawarij terrorists were eliminated, several others were injured, and a cache of modern weapons and explosives was seized.
Those awarded included four Sub-Inspectors, two Assistant Sub-Inspectors, twelve Head Constables, twenty-three Constables, and one Driver Constable.
IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar said that since the launch of Operation Bunyanun al-Marsus, the threat from anti-state elements has significantly grown. He commended the courage and professionalism of the officers deployed in inter-provincial border regions, calling them the first line of defense between terrorist elements and the general public. He reiterated that with the continued support of the Pakistan Army, intelligence agencies, and the public, the nefarious agenda of the enemy would be thwarted.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials including DIG Establishment-II Liaqat Ali Malik, DIG Welfare & Finance Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin, AIG Admin Asad Ijaz Malhi, AIG Discipline Shaista Nadeem, and other officers.
