The film faced a big box office clash with Tiger Shroff’s action movie Baaghi 4. Baaghi 4 is a commercial film for the masses, while The Bengal Files is a serious socio-political drama. This clash has definitely affected the screen count and footfalls for The Bengal Files. Hollywood biggie The Conjuring Last Rites dominating box office on day one against all new releases.
There was a lot of uproar at the trailer launch event in Kolkata last month. Vivek Agnihotri is being accused of many things. Amidst controversies, this film has been released in theaters today on 05 September.
The Bengal Files Takes Poor Start
The film The Bengal Files starring Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Simrat Kaur, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Saswat Chatterjee and Namashi Chakraborty has had a slow start at the box office. Film collected 1.75 crore net on day one and failed to grow big on day two as it collected 2.25 crore net.
Film has 2 – day total of 4 crore net and it needs big jump over the weekend in order to have some sort of respectable number. Anything below 15 crore net weekend means curtains for the film at box office.

About The Bengal Files
Directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the film is the third part of his Files Trilogy. The previous two, The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files, were very successful. The Kashmir Files was a huge blockbuster in 2022. This had created a lot of hype for The Bengal Files.
The film is based on the real-life events of the Great Calcutta Killings and the Noakhali riots of 1946. It stars a strong cast, including Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumaar.
