It’s been one year and eight months since I voluntarily decided to dedicate myself to my side hustles (Okay, okay, not so “voluntarily”; I was laid off from my main job in November 2023).

I was in a good financial position at the time. My investments were all green, I had just sold a house, and I didn’t have any major purchases immediately that required me to be 100% stable.

So I decided to take a sabbatical year to work harder on my personal projects.

My main thought when I decided to make this decision was, “If I were making this good profit only putting 2 hours a day on it, I’d probably turn it into an empire if I put in all my time.”

In theory, it sounded logical. If I wrote only 10 articles because I had a job, I could write 20 articles if I didn’t have anything else to do. If I uploaded one video a week while working because I couldn’t do more, then I could upload two or three videos a week if I were free.
