Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited action-comedy Son Of Sardaar 2 has taken a poor start at the box office. The film released on August 1 and its opening day, Ajay’s film failed to score big considering it was sequel of a hit film.
A sequel to the 2012 hit, Son Of Sardaar 2 continues the story with Ajay Devgn reprising his high-energy, larger-than-life avatar, Jassi, that received mixed reviews. The film’s mass appeal, humour, and action-packed narrative have clearly failed to struck a chord with audiences.
On Day 1, Son of Sardaar 2 raked in an average Rs 6.75 crore net which is 65% less than Ajay’s another sequel Raid 2 which opened to 16.71 crore net on day one couple of months back. Film collected 6.90 crore net on day two without any significant growth.
Film has 2 – day total of 13.65 crore net and its heading for 20 – 21 crore net weekend. Film garnered extremely mixed word of mouth and terrible reviews so weekend growth and solid hold are almost impossible. These numbers look more terrible considering film is running with 50% off over the weekend.
Son of Sardaar 2 announces 50% ticket offer for the weekend
After a poor opening on Friday, August 1st, 2025, the makers have now extended a massive 50% discount offer on tickets through the weekend, trying to push the film over the weekend.
Audiences can avail up to Rs. 200 off on their tickets using the code SOS2 across select platforms. The move comes after a poor opening day response and pathetic audience reviews panning the film’s comedy, chaos, and lethargic performances. “Kyuki ab hassne ka samay aa gaya hai (It’s time to laugh your heart out)!” the team declared while announcing the extension of the offer.

Ajay Devgn starrer also stars late Mukul Dev, marking his posthumous release. Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film features a powerhouse cast including Ajay Devgn, Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Mrunal Thakur, Neeru Bajwa, Chunky Panday, Kubbra Sait, Deepak Dobriyal, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia, Sharat Saxena, and Sahil Mehta.

Produced by N R Pachisia and Pravin Talreja, and co-produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak, Son of Sardaar 2 was previously slated for release on July 25, 2025. It’s release date was later pushed to August 1.
