All Confirmed Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy Companions

Warhammer 40 000 Dark Heresy 3

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy approaches the grimdark CRPG from a different, more investigative angle as it sees us taking on the role of an agent of the Inquisition. No matter how much authority this position grants us, we’ll have to sooner or later rely on the help of our allies, which is why keeping track of all the confirmed companions is always recommended.

As its alpha version becomes available to the public, Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy has a total of five confirmed companions belonging to different races and factions from across Games Workshop’s sprawling universe.

All Confirmed Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy Companions

Below, we’ll list all confirmed Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy companions and their backgrounds, hopefully making it easier to decide your party composition.

Epione Spes

A fellow Acolyte of the Inquisition and “one of the top medicae specialists in the Tyrantine Cabal,” Epione puts her “outstanding intellect” to use both in the “chirurgeon’s theatre or at the scene of a mystifying crime.” Her medical knowledge and cold analytical thinking come in handy when clues need to be pieced together, while, in combat, she treads the line between efficient close-quarters fighter and talented field medic, killing opponents as well as healing allies.

Haymar Devos

Hailing from the death world of Catachan, this Acolyte of the Inquisition and member of the Astra Militarum is no stranger to dangerous encounters, having survived his fair share. His knack for staying alive proves useful during investigations, while, in combat, he “relies on high-speed weapons capable of turning the battlefield into a deadly trap, as well as his formidable Catachan knife.” A more straightforward Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy companion, but useful nonetheless.

Conscript O-118-B (Cogg)

Cogg may not be easy on the eyes, but this massive Ogryn brings much-needed strength and endurance to the table, using a special cranial implant to efficiently understand and execute orders. His massive size means that he “cannot be stopped by obstacles or injury,” while his strike weapons “can break through any armour.” As players got their hands on the Dark Heresy alpha version, Cogg proved to be the most liked companion.

Ra’akhti

Ra’akhti is one of the xenos companions recruitable in Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. Belonging to the Kroot race, she used to be a tracker for her tribe, “possessing the ability to sense others’ emotions and memories through the eating of flesh.” Disobedience resulted in her becoming an outcast, which is why she now lends “her trusty rifle and her pech’ra familiar” to the efforts of the Inquisition.

Laarthyr Cairnareth

Another xenos companion, this Aeldari Corsair “is a Way Seeker, capable of plotting routes for Corsair vessels through the dimension known as the Webway.” His psychic powers can also act as a trump card in combat.

These are all the Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy companions confirmed so far. More will likely join the roster as development progresses.
