When most people start shopping for a portable power station, they go bigger than they need to. Honestly, we get it. In the event of an extended storm or blackout, the last thing you want is to be out of power. But for most households and most camping trips, a mid-size unit with serious specs is the smarter call. That’s exactly where the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 fits in. It’s compact enough to carry with one hand, capable enough to run your fridge, and right now it’s on sale for $469, down from its $799 retail price.
Charging speed that actually changes things

The headline feature on the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 is how fast it charges. Anker’s HyperFlash technology gets the unit from empty to full in just 49 minutes from a standard wall outlet. You enable it through UltraFast Charge Mode in the Anker app. Anker claims this makes it the fastest-charging portable power station in its class, backed by a Guinness World Record as of April 2025.
Why does this matter? Most power stations in this capacity range take two to three hours to fully recharge. If a storm is incoming and you forgot to top it off, 49 minutes is the difference between leaving for the store or sitting tight. It also means quicker turnaround between camping trips, van life stints, or outdoor events.
Charging options go beyond the wall outlet too. You can pull up to 600W from solar panels, or run both AC and solar inputs simultaneously with solar taking priority. The unit also supports car charging, and two high-powered USB-C chargers can be used as inputs as well. This brings it to a total of six ways to recharge. Talk about flexibility and having options!
Enough power for what you actually need

The C1000 Gen 2 carries a 1,024Wh LiFePO4 battery and delivers 2,000W of continuous AC output. That handles the appliances most people actually care about during an outage. A full-size refrigerator runs for around 12 hours on a full charge, a CPAP machine gets about 7.5 hours, and an electric kettle can boil around seven times over. The 3,000W peak output, enabled by SurgePad technology, handles short-term power spikes from compressor-based devices kicking on.
Ten output ports cover most scenarios without an adapter: five 120V AC outlets, three USB-C ports (two rated at 140W), one USB-A, and a 120V car port. You can charge a laptop, keep a light running, and power a small appliance all at once. The LCD screen on the front shows input wattage, output wattage, and estimated time remaining, so you’re never guessing how much runway you have left.
One thing that you should note is that unlike the original C1000, the Gen 2 doesn’t support battery expansion. If your backup power needs are serious and you anticipate needing more than 1kWh regularly, the Anker SOLIX C2000 is worth a look. But for most users, 1kWh is plenty.
A design built for portability

At around 24.9 lbs, the C1000 Gen 2 is about 11% lighter than comparable units in its class, according to Anker. It features two molded handles on either side, making it easy to carry or hand off without awkward gripping. That matters whether you’re moving it between floors during an outage, loading it into a truck bed, or setting it up at a tailgate.
Noise is another feature worth pointing out. At lower load levels the unit runs near-silently. That makes it usable in national parks, quiet neighborhoods, and overnight at a campsite. The fans do kick in louder when it’s charging at full speed. But considering how fast it charges, the fan won’t be whirring for hours on end.
Battery life and app control

LFP battery chemistry is what separates longer-lasting power stations from ones that degrade quickly. The C1000 Gen 2 retains at least 80% of its capacity after 4,000 charge cycles. That works out to roughly a decade of regular daily use. We imagine that for most people, by that time they might have already upgraded.
The Anker app connects over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and gives you real control remotely. You can check power levels, monitor draw, toggle outputs, adjust charging behavior, and push firmware updates without being in the same room. A time-of-use mode lets you schedule charging around off-peak electricity rates, which is handy if you’re running this as a regular home backup setup. The Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 is available now for $469 on Anker’s website, down from its regular $799 price. For a unit that charges this fast, runs this quietly, and handles this much output, it’s hard to argue with that price.
