Anker’s Nebula P1 Solves Projectors’ Biggest Audio Problem with Detachable Speakers

soundcore nebula p1

Anker introduced the Soundcore Nebula P1, a portable projector that tackles weak audio with a pair of detachable 10-watt speakers that magnetically attach to the projector body. However, we should point out that the projector itself needs a power outlet or portable power station to run, since it lacks an internal battery.

Display and audio that delivers

The Nebula P1 delivers Full HD 1080p resolution with 650 ANSI lumens of brightness, suitable for dark rooms and outdoor movie nights. Combined with the included 100-inch outdoor screen, it makes a compelling case for backyard cinema setups without requiring a massive investment in separate projectors and audio gear.

The detachable speakers are the standout feature here. Each speaker puts out 10 watts and supports Dolby Audio, giving you proper stereo separation when placed on either side of your viewing area. They’re also IP54-rated for water and dust resistance, which means they can handle outdoor conditions better than most portable electronics. Battery life hits 20 hours per charge, so you can use them independently as Bluetooth speakers when you’re not projecting movies.

Smart features and setup

Setup features include autofocus, keystone correction, and a gimbal offering 130 degrees of projection angle adjustment. Additionally, the P1 runs Google TV with Netflix pre-installed. Connectivity options include HDMI and both USB-A and USB-C ports, backed by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

Worth the investment?

At $799, the Nebula P1 positions itself well below Anker’s premium Nebula X1 Pro, which costs nearly four times as much. Most portable projectors struggle with audio because cramming decent speakers into a compact body doesn’t leave much room for sound quality. By making the speakers separate but magnetically integrated, Anker gives you options for better sound staging.

The P1 works great for backyard movie nights or home cinema setups where you have access to power. However, it’s less suited if true wireless portability is a must.

The projector is currently available on Amazon with a limited-time $80 discount, bringing the price down to $719 and including the bonus outdoor screen. Check it out on Amazon before the promotion ends.
