These days, it’s not exactly uncommon for tech brands to have a bit of fun on the first of every April, and year after year we’ve seen some rather hilarious, clever, and even cringeworthy attempts at humor from some of the biggest names in the industry. This year is no different as well, with companies left and right having a go at it—so as a bit of fun, here are some of the more chuckle-worthy April Fool’s tech pranks for 2026.
PlayStation Playmo

First up we have the PlayStation Playmo (courtesy of the folks over at IGN), and AI-powered DualSense controller that can play games for you, so all you have to do is sit back, relax, and watch as it takes down that difficult boss or unbeatable Gran Turismo course. It even goes beyond games, and can do other stuff like change your gamer ID, and even order pizza.
Project R.O.A.C.H.
However, if the Playmo isn’t immersive enough for you, then you might want to take a look at Project R.O.A.C.H. It’s a new approach to gameplay controls developed by the team from CD Projekt Red, which gives you a more realistic and tactile means of playing The Witcher games.
Oppo Find U

Up next is the Oppo Find U, a smart umbrella which comes with a full set of smart features including a built-in flexible 4K display, a camera handle system, solar mode to recharge the battery, and even up to IP59 dust and water resistance. We’re not gonna lie though, we’d actually consider buying one if it existed.
Fortnite’s Big Head Update

The folks behind Fortnite also had a laugh as well, pushing a “big-head” update that harkens back to the days of older games with unlockable big-head modes. Also included is a clever little finger gun weapon, which takes up an inventory slot when you grab it.
