Steryon, a Spanish startup specialising in industrial cybersecurity, has closed a €1 million Seed funding round to boost the development of its technology, strengthen its technical and commercial team, and expand its deployment to customers, especially in key industrial sectors.
The round was co-led by the funds 4Founders Capital and Abac Nest Ventures. The company already collaborates with operators in different sectors and plans to scale up its national and international presence in the coming months.
“After more than a decade working in industrial cybersecurity, I have experienced first hand the challenges of the sector. With Steryon, we want to change the paradigm: to offer solutions that speak your language, integrate into operations, and protect what matters most with intelligence. Industrial cybersecurity can no longer be an isolated or reactive effort: it must be a strategic business capability,” says Maria Taberna, Founder and CEO of Steryon.
Founded in 2024, by María Taberna, Steryon was created with the mission of turning industrial cybersecurity into a strategic business capability. The company specialises in cybersecurity for industrial environments. Its artificial intelligence-based platform enables organisations with critical infrastructure to manage cyber risk in a structured, prioritised manner that is aligned with their operations.
Taberna is an engineer with more than 15 years of experience in industrial cybersecurity. She was one of the key players in the development of Oylo, from its inception to its acquisition by Rockwell Automation, where she later led global cybersecurity initiatives, designing and deploying programs in highly regulated and complex industrial environments. Her technical knowledge, combined with a clear operational vision, defines the practical and effective approach with which Steryon aims to transform security in the industrial sector.
According to the company, Taberna is acccompanied by a dynamic and expert team with a track record in cybersecurity and industrial environments, including former CISOs and OT security specialists.
“At 4Founders, we saw Steryon as a high-impact proposition, led by a team with in-depth knowledge of the problem and the environment in which it occurs. Their vision is ambitious and has been executed with focus from day one,” said Marc Badosa, partner and Founder of 4Founders Capital.
Steryon offers a platform that allows industrial organisations to manage in a structured way, aligned with their operations and adapted to complex OT/ICS environments where an interruption can have economic, regulatory, or even physical security consequences.
Its solution unifies three essential capabilities in a single tool: continuous visibility, automated regulatory compliance, and remediation based on operational impact, all from a clear, action-oriented interface.
Steryon’s AI reportedly brings decisive clarity to this process: it understands the context, prioritises threats and transforms complex data into actionable intelligence.
“At Abac Nest Ventures, we support technical Founders with a clear vision and the ability to execution. Steryon represents that new generation of industrial solutions that are born from the field, with modular technology, AI-based smart motors, and a clear focus on real impact,” said Joan Pina, partner at Abac Nest Ventures.
