Publisher Microprose and developer Chute Apps today announced that base-building survival RTS Repterra has locked down its release date to April 28, 2026, when it promises to deliver plenty of dino-driven mayhem.
Set on a planet overrun by prehistoric creatures, Repterra tasks us with rebuilding humanity’s foothold. We’ll construct colonies, manage resources, and defend against overwhelming waves of dinosaurs that aren’t too keen on us taking over their home.
Repterra Releases in Late April
Perhaps the coolest twist to Repterra’s blend of resource management and base defense involves actually taking control of dinosaurs and pitting them against each other.
Although human units will fight diligently to ensure our colonies’ survival, the ability to “breed, tame, and ride dinosaurs” could prove to be an ace up our sleeves.
Repterra promises large-scale battles that see us facing “over 100,000 dinosaurs on screen at once, running at a smooth 60 FPS.”
Three unique factions are available at launch, “each offering distinct units, heroes, and strategic approaches,” while hero customization and genetic mutations allow us to adapt our capabilities depending on the challenges waiting ahead.
Furthermore, a meta progression system allows us to “carry upgrades across highly replayable maps.”
Repterra’s release date was unveiled in a trailer that also showcases its overhauled visuals, which promise “richer environments, improved lighting, and clearer battlefield readability.”
Repterra is set to release on April 28, 2026, on PC, via Steam. A demo is available now, allowing for some early dino slaughter.
