Battlefield 6 has just been released, and a fan has already recreated a notorious CoD map in Portal.

That was quick: the popular Shipment map from Call of Duty is now also playable in Battlefield.

Shipment is back! But wait a minute, this isn’t Call of Duty, this is Battlefield 6, right? Yep, and yet the statement is still true – thanks, of course, to the hard-working hobbyists in Portal, Battlefield’s creative playground.

This time around, the map editor allows so much freedom that a huge variety of new maps are possible. Let’s take a look.

Okay, but why Shipment of all things?

Shipment is one of the most popular and well-known CoD multiplayer maps, which keeps coming back in slightly modified form. And that’s despite the fact that the tiny arena usually turns into a chaotic bloodbath, which our editor-in-chief Dimi rightly describes as “horrible” and “the worst map.”

Of course, its popularity is partly due to the fact that it’s a great place to grind for experience and challenges. But there’s more to it than that. For many, Shipment is also a nostalgic trip back to the glorious CoD past. You can read all about it here in Dimi’s column:

The cargo port was probably easy to recreate in Battlefield Portal. If you want to play it yourself or tinker with it, head over to download it via Portal. And no, the spawns aren’t better placed there than in the original, which is simply due to the layout of the map.

You can now also find Rust as a 1v1 map in Battlefield, as well as Killhouse, all from the same creator, Matavatar. Here he shares a short clip about it:

Other unusual projects are in the works or even already playable. For example, Matavatar is building a Star Destroyer from Star Wars – Battlefront meets Battlefield? Another user has built a playable version of Space Invaders:

The EA deal: Background on the new owners

In September 2025, it was announced that EA would be privatized and transferred to an investor consortium for a sum of around €47 billion. The new owners of EA include the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund PIF and Affinity Partners, Jared Kushner’s investment firm. Saudi Arabia is accused of political and human rights abuses, such as the persecution of activists and journalists. There is also deep-rooted discrimination against minorities. Freedom of expression is structurally suppressed. Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s son-in-law, has repeatedly come under fire for dubious real estate deals, secret contacts with the Russian government, and allegations of corruption.
Kushner also maintains close contact with Saudi Crown Prince and PIF Chairman Mohammed bin Salman. So if you ever run out of steam in normal multiplayer, it’s definitely worth taking a look at the works of these hard-working fans.

Do you play Shipment in Battlefield 6? What other legendary maps from Call of Duty – or other shooters – would you like to see recreated in Portal? Feel free to write your thoughts in the comments below. We’re sure there are some creative minds in the GlobalESportNews community who might feel directly inspired by them.

  1. This is peak gaming life, right? Learning from failure… by immediately moving on to recreate a CoD map in Portal. The power of Portal UI tools is truly insane! Who needs actual Battlefield gameplay when you can have a nostalgic bloodbath from Call of Duty, just with different textures? The Shipment map is back, and apparently, spawns are just as terrible here as they were in the original – progress! Cant wait to see a Star Destroyer battle in BF6, because nothing says strategic shooter like a 1v1 Space Invaders match. Good luck, Matavatar! And lets not forget the EA drama – guess privatizing a company just means you get to associate with even more questionable characters. Keep on recreating, folks, the hobbies are clearly paying off in unexpected ways!Đồng hồ đếm ngược
