German esports organisation BIG (Berlin International Gaming) has revealed that it is working on a female Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) initiative called Project Breach in collaboration with GreenMedical.
The announcement was made through a three-minute reveal trailer on social media, promising to reveal more information surrounding the event in the near future.

BIG’s initiative comes several months after one of the biggest women’s CS2 circuits, ESL Impact, was shut down by ESL FACEIT Group, which was highlighted in the trailer. At that time, the organiser sited that the ‘economic model’ was not ‘sustainable.’
The announcement has been met positively from other esports organisations fielding female teams and CS2 fans alike.
BIG currently has an active all-women’s esports team in CS2 called BIG EQUIPA, which was first formed in 2022 after signing the equipa roster. Before the circuit was suspended, BIG EQUIPA won ESL Impact League Season 8 after defeating MIBR Female 2-1 in the Grand Finals, securing $50,000 (~37,550) in prize funds.
Project Breach also features the digital healthcare provider GreenMedical, which established a partnership with BIG last September to bring education activations to fans.
Women in CS2 Esports
Despite ESL Impact’s absence, third parties and the online community continue to keep women-only CS2 competitions alive in 2026.
Back in January, the non-profit organisation Brace for Impact announced a partnership with ESL FACEIT Group to promote women in CS2. The deal sees the charity use FACEIT Clubs to organise female-only competitions across five regions throughout 2026.
In 2026, BIG EQUIPA has also been competing in smaller C-Tier and B-Tier events, including the JB Pro League Season 1 back in February, where the team placed third out of the eight teams that competed.
While the professional CS2 women’s scene’s future remains uncertain, the community has strived to organise events, updates, leader boards and discussions through the ‘Female Counter-Strike’ hub on the esports platform FACEIT.
