These devices ensure fast response and stable clamping across a wide voltage range—making them ideal for next-gen powertrains, onboard chargers, radar systems, and more.

Vishay Intertechnology has launched its latest 1500 W uni- and bidirectional surface-mount TVS (transient voltage suppressor) diodes under the T15BxxA and T15BxxCA series. Packaged in the compact SMB (DO-214AA) form factor, these devices are engineered for high-reliability automotive applications, with AEC-Q101 qualification.
The key features are:
- Optimized junction passivation using anisotropic rectifier technology
- Supports high junction temperature up to 185 °C for automotive-grade reliability
- Delivers 1500 W peak pulse power with a 10/1000 µs waveform
These new TVS solutions offer a 58% smaller footprint than traditional SMC (DO-214AB) package devices, enabling space-saving PCB designs and lower system costs. With breakdown voltage ranges of 12 V to 51 V (unidirectional) and 12 V to 100 V (bidirectional), and clamping voltages from 17.0 V up to 137 V, the series ensures strong protection against voltage transients. Fast response times and high clamping efficiency enhance their effectiveness in safeguarding critical automotive circuits.
The compact size and high-temperature tolerance make these TVS ideal for protecting electronics in harsh operating environments. Applications include lighting systems, electro-mechanical braking (EMB), 48 V powertrains, onboard chargers, vehicle control units (VCUs), telematics, and radar sensors. These TVS devices are designed to protect sensitive automotive electronics—such as ICs, MOSFETs, and sensor signal lines—against voltage transients caused by inductive load switching and lightning strikes. Their fast response and strong clamping capability make them ideal for ensuring circuit stability and longevity in harsh electrical environments.
These devices meet Moisture Sensitivity Level (MSL) 1 per J-STD-020, are RoHS-compliant, and halogen-free, ensuring compliance with modern environmental and reliability standards. Samples and production quantities are currently available, with standard lead times of 12 weeks.
