A new romantic comedy is lining up a proper big screen first, and it already has an OTT landing spot locked in. Kuku Ki Kundli, starring Bhuvan Bam and Wamiqa Gabbi, has begun pushing its “coming soon in cinemas” messaging, while also confirming that the film will stream on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical run.
The latest promo creative also spotlights the film’s big studio backing, with Amazon MGM Studios presenting the project and Dharma Productions mounting it as a theatrical title. For Bam, it is a significant step in his acting trajectory from creator-led stardom to mainstream cinema, and pairing him with Gabbi gives the film a fresh, contemporary rom-com energy.
Amazon Prime Video Set For Post-Theatrical Streaming
As confirmed in the film’s latest promotional communication, Kuku Ki Kundli will arrive in theatres first and then premiere on Amazon Prime Video post its cinema run. While the makers have not announced a release date yet, the “coming soon” tag suggests the team is beginning to formally roll out the film for audiences.
The streaming confirmation is also a key part of the pitch. It signals a hybrid play designed to maximise theatrical discovery and then widen reach through Prime Video, a route that has become increasingly common for star-driven Hindi entertainers and youth-centric rom-coms.

The film is directed by Sharan Sharma and written by Mohak Aneja and Kunal Aneja. It is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla and Apoorva Mehta, with Raj Mehta, Somen Mishra and Marijke deSouza also serving as producers. The project is presented by Amazon MGM Studios and mounted by Dharma Productions.

Gabbi’s recent work includes the theatrical release Bhool Chuk Maaf (2025), and films like Baby John (2024) and Tabaah (2024), along with the OTT title Khufiya (2023). She has also featured in Netflix’s Mai (2022) and Prime Video’s Modern Love Mumbai (2022). Her 2026 slate is stacked with theatrical titles including Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, G2, Bhooth Bangla and Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling.
