News of conflict floods your screen. Tensions rise between nations. People you care about find themselves in dangerous situations.
In these moments, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) gave his companions a powerful weapon. Not swords or shields. Something stronger.
This supplication is recorded in Sunan Abi Dawud. The Prophet (ﷺ) would recite this when facing an enemy or during times of conflict.

Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِي نُحُورِهِمْ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ
Transliteration:
Allahumma innā naj‘aluka fī nuḥūrihim wa na‘ūdhu bika min shurūrihim
Meaning:
O Allah! We put You in front of them, and we seek refuge in You from their evils.
The Prophet taught this dua during real battles. His companions faced actual enemies with swords drawn. Yet he reminded them that the real protection comes from above. This applies to modern conflicts too. Wars today might involve drones and missiles instead of swords. But the principle stays the same. Human power is limited. Allah’s power has no limits. Putting Him in front of the enemy means trusting that nothing touches you except what He permits.
This dua also protects your heart from fear.
How many times should you recite this dua?
- Recite this dua as needed during times of conflict or when facing any kind of enemy.
Conflicts come in many forms. War between nations. Tensions in your community. Even personal battles with people who wish you ill. This dua covers all of it.
