Endless Legend 2 has a new release date: The turn-based strategy game will come to PC via Early Access on September 22, 2025

Amplitude Studios’ first game since buying its independence from SEGA was originally aiming for a launch on August 7, so fans will have to wait more than a month longer — but not really. Amplitude and Hooded Horse announced that early August will see a demo released instead, giving strategy enthusiasts another chance to whet their appetites and making the additional waiting time a little easier.

Romain de Waubert de Genlis, the CEO of Amplitude, called the decision a “tough call” and stated that the team wanted “to make the most” of the feedback provided by playtesters.

“Taking this extra time means we can keep refining the game and make sure we’re delivering the best possible experience to players on September 22,” he added.

The extra time will be used to focus on player onboarding, ensuring language localization is at a high standard, and improving polish and player momentum in the early portions of the game. In addition, a general balance pass, improved map generation, and some quality-of-life changes are on the agenda for the extra stretch of development.

Amplitude certainly can’t be faulted for being cautious, given its recently regained independence and the example provided by Civilization 7 earlier this year, which received a mixed reception that dulled its momentum. With players having high standards even for Early Access releases, it’s better to be safe than sorry.
