About the Internship
We are seeking a highly skilled Fin Actuation System & GNC Control Engineer to lead the design, development, integration, and validation of missile fin control systems and advanced GNC algorithms. The candidate will work closely with propulsion, aerodynamics, structural, and avionics teams to deliver precision-controlled flight systems.
Selected intern’s day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Design and develop electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic fin actuation systems for missile control
- Perform actuator sizing, torque calculations, bandwidth analysis, and dynamic modeling
- Develop motor control algorithms for BLDC and servo systems
- Select hardware components including motors, gear trains, encoders, drivers, and power electronics
- Ensure environmental qualification covering vibration, shock, temperature, and EMI/EMC standards
- Perform reliability analysis and implement redundancy mechanisms
- Develop and implement missile flight control algorithms
- Design autopilot systems using PID, LQR, MPC, and adaptive control techniques
- Develop navigation filters including Kalman Filter and Extended/Unscented Kalman Filter
- Integrate IMU, GPS, INS, and sensor fusion frameworks
- Conduct trajectory optimization and simulation
- Validate control laws through MIL, SIL, and HIL simulations
- Perform hardware-in-loop and real-time simulations
- Support wind tunnel and flight test campaigns
- Implement fault detection, isolation, and recovery systems
- Collaborate with embedded software teams for real-time control deployment

Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in aerospace engineering, control systems, mechatronics, or related field
- Strong understanding of missile flight dynamics and control theory
- Experience in actuator design and servo control systems
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, Python, or similar simulation tools
- Knowledge of embedded systems and real-time control implementation
- Experience with sensor integration including IMU, INS, and GPS
