The release of EA Sports FC 26 isn’t too far away, as more details have been announced for Pro Clubs.
Pro Clubs is a very popular online mode as each player solely controls their created in-game pro.
EA Sports recently did a deep dive on the mode, revealing all of the big changes coming to Clubs for EA FC 26.
EA FC 26 players can now join multiple clubs
In a very welcome change, players will now be able to be members of up to three clubs at a time.
EA FC 26 players will be able to freely switch between these clubs at any point.
However, one of those clubs will have to be selected as a favourite, and only that one will count towards seasonal rewards.
Archetypes replace skill trees in EA FC 26 Pro Clubs
In possibly the biggest change to Pro Clubs this year, skill trees have been removed altogether.
Instead, players will pick from one of 13 Archetypes, which have signature PlayStyles, gameplay perks, and unique attributes.
This also applies to player careers as one of many new features in EA FC 26 Career Mode.
Each Archetype will have a pro start with two Playstyles before earning more as the character progresses.
There are 39 different specialisations for players to pick from to ensure that players can personalise their pro.
The Archetypes and their starting Playstyles are as follows:
Forward Archetypes
- Magician
- Finisher
- Low Driven Shot
- First Touch
- Target
- Power Shot
- Precision Header
Midfielder Archetypes
- Recycler
- Maestro
- Creator
- Incisive Pass
- Inventive Pass
- Spark
Defender Archetypes
- Progressor
- Long Ball Pass
- Anticipate
- Boss
- Engine
- Marauder
Goalkeeper Archetypes
- Shot Stopper
- Sweeper Keeper
- Cross Claimer
- 1v1 Close Down
While these are listed positionally, each non-goalkeeper Archetype can be used in any role.
Out of the 39 specialisations, each offering big stat increases, you can choose three in total, but can change them at any time.
Another new feature is that each pro will be given an Ultimate-Team-style card.
These will then upgrade from Bronze to Silver and Gold or possibly even Icon status through playing games.
However, FC Points, which cost actual money, can be spent to give pros XP multipliers.
This has some fearing that, like Ultimate Team, Pro Clubs will become heavily monetised and possibly pay-to-win.
And there’s no financial return for that investment, unlike the best payout online casinos.
EA FC 26 has a revamped Be-A-Goalkeeper mode
Playing as a goalkeeper has been revamped for EA FC 26 and is now possible in Clubs RUSH games.
Mostly, the improvements come down to a new control scheme.
Flicking the Right Stick will prepare your goalkeeper to dive in that direction for a short period without actually diving.
Also, when a cross is coming in, players can choose to punch the ball with Circle/B or catch the ball with Square/X.
However, timing this button push will be key to its success.
During one-on-one situations, Triangle/Y makes the keeper rush the dribbler, Square/X asks the keeper to smother or pick up the ball, and Circle/B will have the keeper make themselves big and ready for a reaction save.
Reaction saves are the ability to request a dive on demand.
Holding R1/RB while flicking the Right Stick will force the goalkeeper to dive in the chosen direction.
