HoYoverse has lifted the curtain on Genshin Impact 6.0, A Dance of Snowy Tides and Hoarfrost Groves — the start of its Song of the Welkin Moon cycle, which takes place in the brand-new region of Nod-Krai.
Naturally, Version 6.0 – or Luna I, as the new denomination goes – is jam-packed with fresh content, from new characters like Lauma, Flins, and Aino over the map expansion and story continuation to unique mechanics that separate it from previous updates. HoYoverse will also celebrate Genshin Impact’s fifth anniversary during this update with a free 5-Star character selector and a new feature that allows players to unlock up to four 5-Star character Constellations for free every year.

Genshin Impact Luna I is set to come to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android on September 10, 2025.
Note that Genshin Impact will be removed from the PlayStation Store on PS4 on that day in preparation for its end of support of the last-gen platform in 2026.
Lauma, Flins, and Aino’s stories will be told as part of the Archon Quest in Luna I, but this will not be the standard going forward. It was merely the best way of telling this version’s story, the developers said.
After arriving in Nasha Town, the Traveler is sucked into the conflict brewing between several factions in Nod-Krai, among them the Fatui and the Frostmoon Scions, who are vying for the control over this land’s ancient powers. Areas like Nasha Town, Hiisi Island, and The Isle of Cold Moonlight will be available to explore in this update.
The Genshin Impact 6.0 banners will feature Lauma, Flins, and Aino as well as reruns of Yelan and Nahida. Players will be able to obtain a free copy of Aino shortly after entering Nod-Krai.
The following events will be available in Genshin Impact Luna I:
The following anniversary rewards will be available:
The ancient power of Kuuvahki is omnipresent in Nod-Krai and is what gives characters from here their powers — hence they use Moon Wheels in lieu of Visions and are able to trigger Lunar Reactions, such as the new Lunar-Bloom Reactions. An exploration mechanic in Nod-Krai lets you transform into a Seelie-like creature for quick travel. The power can also be used to solve puzzles, disarm enemies, and deflect attacks.
A Nod-Krai weapon series will be craftable from blueprints.
Nod-Krai will feature unique reactions from NPCs and the environment depending on which character you run around as. Lauma, for example, is helped and trusted by animals, while Flins can understand the whispers of the undead Wild Hunt creatures, which are only gibberish for anyone else. Ineffa and Aino unlock extra dialog options with some NPCs.
Nod-Krai will have special items you can collect to purchase cosmetics for Aino and Ineffa at Aino’s workshop.
Meeting Points are a new feature allowing players to hang out with characters and learn a bit more about them — a mix of Story Quest and Hangout Event. Upgrading these Meeting Points provides rewards as well. In a similar vein, the new Selenic Chronicles are little hangouts with the Damsellete.
Two new Artifact sets, Silken Moon’s Serenade and Night of the Sky’s Unveiling, will be added in Luna I, while a new world boss, Radiant Moonfly, provides Flins and Aino’s ascension material.
Valiant Chronicles will be available at the Adventurer’s Guild. They are Bounties on Local Legends, enabling you to gain extra rewards from bringing down these dangerous foes.
Stygian Onslaught and Imaginarium Theater will be updated, with the latter getting an all-new Lunar Mode. Players can earn tradeable artwork cards from this mode. Envisaged Echoes will be available for Nahida and Yelan.
The Repertoire of Myriad Memories will be expanded with a special anniversary album and a fresh Genius Invokation TCG update is part of the agenda as well.
The Traveler’s Tales event will become permanent with this version. Players can go to Narukami Shrine and wish to meet certain characters to steer the available encounters.
Here is a list of upcoming optimizations:
Pulling a 5-Star character you’ve already reached maximum Constellations for will grant you the Masterless Stella Fortuna item in the future, which allows you to increase the max level of any character on the roster up to Level 100. Level 100 characters have better stats and stronger Elemental Reactions. Masterless Stella Fortuna will be awarded retroactively for any such pull you might have made in the past.
A new mechanic called To Temper Thyself and Journey Far will be introduced. Complete some objectives to earn one Stella Fortuna of your choice for Jean, Diluc, Qiqi, Mona, Keqing, Klee, Tartaglia, Albedo, Ganyu, Xiao, Hu Tao, Eula, Kamisato Ayaka, Yoimiya, Sangonomiya Kokomi, Arataki Itto, Shenhe, Yae Miko, Kamisato Ayato, Tighnari, Cyno, Nilou, Wanderer, Dehya, or Baizhu. Players can earn up to four Stella Fortuna per year through this system.
Finally, HoYoverse announced an anniversary livestream for September 28, 2025, and revealed a roadmap for the upcoming Genshin Impact UGC mode, titled Miliastra Wonderland, which will have an open beta in Version Luna II.
