Google recently announced that it’s bringing over a number of new updates for Google TV, which run using Gemini on the backend. According to Google, the updates are designed to bring “richer visual answers, helpful deep dives, and timely sports updates” to users.
As such, Gemini on Google TV will now be able to answer questions in a more “tailored” manner through relevant responses—for example, users who ask Gemini for updates on current match scores with be presented with a live scorecard as well as information on where to watch the said match. This will also apply to other topics, such as video results for cooking tutorials and more.

For deep dives, Gemini will give Google TV users narrated visual explanations on different topics, which will include step-by-step narratives and breakdowns, as well as interactive walkthroughs including follow-up questions that users can view instantly on their TV screen. The update will also include sports briefs across several sports leagues including the NBA, NCAA basketball, NHL, MLB, MLS, and NWSL, as well as game summaries, player and roster updates, and upcoming schedules.

The new Gemini update starts rolling out today for users in the United States and Canada; meanwhile, Gemini for Google TV voice assistant will arrive for more countries this year, starting with Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain this spring.
